The University of Bath, UK and Gama-Bell Teacher Training College
invite qualified teachers of English holding B.A. TEFL or equivalent (licencjat)
to participate in the graduate studies programme:
MA in Education: Language in Education
The full MA programme typically comprises of five or six taught units and a dissertation. Units consist of 24 hours teaching by a University of Bath lecture, followed by individual research and the submission of a written assignment.
The suggested order of units:
- Leading and Managing Human Resources in Education,
- Language Teaching Methodology and Curriculum,
- Research Methods in Education,
- Talk and Learning,
- Dissertation focused on language
Qualifications
According to the number of units selected for study, students can be awarded one or more of the qualifications of Postgraduate Certificate of Education, Postgraduate Diploma of Education or degree of MA in Education.Requirements for the awards are as follows:
- Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Studies = 30 credits.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Education = 60 credits (Research Methods in Education is a required unit for this award)
- MA in Education = 90 credits; 5 units + a dissertation of 15,000 words.
Entry Requirements
The entry regulations for students whose first language is not English require a statement of proficiency through either Cambridge Proficiency English (CPE) grade C; Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) grade B; IELTS (6.5) (with no less than 6.0 in each of the four components); or a TOEFL score of at least 580 (paper based test) or 237 (computer based test).
Costs
- The fee for this 12 credit unit will be L650 for UK and EU students (and 800L for non-EU students), payable in pounds sterling in advance.
- An administrative charge of PLN 600 paid direct to Bell Kraków, will also be levied locally to cover tutor costs of the lecturer's travel and accommodation in Krakow, refreshments for students and other relevant organizational costs.

Other relevant financial information:
- Please bear in mind that the cost of a 12 credit unit and the cost of the dissertation will rise by about 5% in each new academic year beginning August 1st.
- Students will be expected to pay in full for each unit as they take the unit – no instalment payments will be possible.
- The expectation is that all students will have paid for the unit before the teaching commences. Online payment facilities will be available for this. Where this is a problem, students will be expected to pay in full on the first day of teaching – details of payment methods will be provided.
- Instalment payments will be possible for the dissertation – 50% of the fee will need to be paid on registration for the dissertation, 50% to be paid 90 days later
